"I can't keep thinking about it myself"

Cesar Practice Therapist Jelle Jacobs about the re-mind

“I regularly order one or more Re-minds. I lend them to my patients. When they no longer need it, I'll ask for it back. I think it's part of the service, I wouldn't resell them. I don't always see them again, that's okay. Sometimes people ask if they can keep it to use again later. I think that's fine too.

Many complaints that I treat arise from incorrect posture or way of moving. It usually concerns people who spend a lot of time behind their computers. I initially provide the Re-mind to give people insight into their attitude during the day. In my practice we simulate that situation, then they show how they are sitting and they look in the mirror. And then they say: I'm fine, I don't understand where the complaints come from. But for me they often sit the way they want, not the way they actually sit.

When the Re-mind vibrates, they have to look objectively at home at how they are sitting and at what they are doing. This quickly leads to the realization that the attitude is often worse than they think. They often find that irritating. But the insight is valuable! Once we have that insight, we can get started. Then we can break the wrong pattern. And the Re-mind helps with that too.

The assignment they receive varies depending on the complaint. With each vibration it can be an exercise, sitting relaxed or walking a bit. I recently had someone with back problems on one side. Then I think: it's probably crooked. So then the assignment with every vibration is: sit straight.

The Re-mind is most effective for people with chronic complaints. They have often been suffering from these complaints for a long time. They are motivated to do something about it, but they cannot do it without external stimulus. Why can't they do it themselves? I think it's because they get so caught up in their work that they just don't think about it. Then a few hours pass without noticing.

An app is not working. I have also tried that with my patients. But then they have to download something and turn it on. And then they hear something, they think they have a message. All too much hassle. The Re-mind is much simpler and more accessible and therefore more effective.
